Friends can make it work!

Linda Banks Testa owner of The Glass Experience in Blairsville, PA

Born and raised in North Huntingdon, PA

My fused glass journey began years ago while visiting dear friends in the Maggie Valley area of North Carolina’s Smoky Mountains. There, under the mentorship of Celeste Luleff and Lisa Bradley, I returned year after year—drawn deeper each time into the world of kiln-fused glass—until I could no longer imagine living in Pennsylvania without my own glass kiln.

Under their careful tutelage, I grew to love the art of fusing glass. I learned that it is not only an art, but also a science—one that rewards patience, precision, and thoughtful intention. That balance between creativity and technical understanding continues to shape both my work and the way I teach.

Opening the kiln never loses its magic. There is a quiet pause as the lid lifts, a moment filled with anticipation and gratitude. Each piece reveals itself transformed—colors softened or intensified, edges smoothed, textures awakened. It is in this moment that glass reminds me to trust the process, to remain present, and to welcome surprise.

Sharing this experience with others has become one of the most meaningful parts of my work. In my studio, students are guided with clarity, care, and respect for the material—whether they are touching glass for the first time or returning to deepen their skills. I strive to create an environment where learning feels accessible, inspiring, and deeply satisfying.

Through classes, workshops, and immersive retreats, I invite others to experience the same sense of wonder I feel each time a kiln is opened—an experience rooted in craftsmanship, curiosity, and the simple joy of creating something beautiful by hand.
